AIRCRAFT REGISTRATION

  • This aspect of TCI law is regulated by the Civil Aviation Department of the Turks & Caicos Islands who work closely with their counterparts in the UK

  • Perhaps the most common pitfall for individuals attempting to register their aircraft in TCI without professional assistance is having the aircraft in question de-registered in the previous country while it is still located in that country.  While this seems to be a basic point it is a mistake commonly made and can multiply the costs for the individual concerned who must then cover the costs of CAE's inspectors travelling to that country to inspect the aircraft prior to the issue of a Certificate of Airworthiness.

  • Another principal consideration is the timing of the application and inspection process.  For maximum convenience it is useful to know when the CAE inspectors will be available so that the TCI application will not complicate the de-registration of the aircraft in the prior country of registry.

  • Finbar F. Dempsey & Company will be happy to assist individuals with all aspects of the registration process, please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a consultation.
